Who Would have Thought?

29 03 2007

A huge thank you to fracas for Tagging me for the “Thinking Blogger Award” here. I am very honoured. Its surely a boost to think that your blog challenges others to think, or laugh, or to simply enjoy what you write. And that enjoyment is bar none the most important part of having an audience to your blog.

I believe I have good taste in the blogs that I read, as many of my blog reading addicitions have already been tagged, including SkyWindows, J U G G L I N G Cats , Penseroso, and of course fracas.

My chosen Thinking Blogger blogs, in no particular order. . . .
1. Cerebral Compost

This blog is written by a friend of friend. . . .Angela has a sharp tongue and quick wit. An incredibly funny girl, who always has the most refreshing out look on any topic.

A little tidbit from her blog:

So, as it’s Cheque Week, the streets have been pretty quiet for us on Light Patrol.

This leaves us plenty of time for intense spiritual enrichment (read: insisting Robert eat entire contents of a dodgy looking Chocolate Advent Calendar) and deep meaningful discussions:

Me – You ate all 24 pieces of chocolate. How do you feel?
Robert – Pretty good. I feel kind of high, actually.
Me – Well, they do say that eating chocolate releases the same endorphins as sex.
Robert – Chocolate and sex work on the brain the same way?
Me – That’s what I read.
Robert – Sex equals chocolate.
Me – Yup.
Robert – So basically, you’re saying I’ve just had really, really horrible sex 24 times in the past hour?

2. What Would Jesus Blog

The is Jesus’ blog. So I’m sure he already knows that his blog makes me think. For me, already having my own personal relationship with him – and him knowing everything about me – its nice to have an insight into his life after his “biography” ended.

A little tidbit from his blog:

I’ve never been a big fan of tattoos. It’s even mentioned in My biography. So, I always get a kick out of the fact that Me or a some image symbolizing Me are the most common things tattooed on a human body. Either people haven’t read My book, or they think that it’s okay because they are advertising for Me… like I “need” marketing.

I’m also not too big a fan of people worshiping pretty much anything that isn’t Me. I get a little jealous about that kind of stuff. I know that music can be powerful and fulfilling, but there is a fine line that is easy to cross when it comes to loving a band and worshiping a band… or even more awkward, loving the image of what you think the band represents. Oh, you cute little image based society!

3. PB Chow

A blog about personal growth and experiences playing amature paintball. As someone who works in the industry its very interesting to watch his evolution, and share in his experiences.

A little snippit from Chow’s blog:

The Mercenaries were a ruthless gang of paintballers, they were dedicated to winning and supporting the team and it was an honor to lead them. The Mercenaries was a joint effort between Quebec and Ontario to take the title of Canadian Xball Champions. I learned so much about team management organizing and preparing the team and its athletes for every event. The Mercenaries lost to Montreal Shock in the finals yet still taking the overall Ontario title. I got to admit that losing that match was one of my biggest regrets and I often get jealous seeing the CXBL championship rings on Shock fingers. . . . Like all teams we had player issues, team issues and the dreaded paintball politics. Thankfully, with the help and advice of the older players on the team I was able to overcome this and conclude the season. A lot of people wonder why I didn’t continue the Mercs. When I joined NRG I saw the opportunity to complete my own goals as a player . . .

4. Daily Blog Tips

Memes etc are not really something the author of this blog would be interested in, but I think their blog is worth a read everyday that is what I want to share that with other bloggers. They make me think and re evaluate how I blog. I don’t always take the advice to working, but I think my understanding on simply how to improve my blog has been invaluable!

5. I Forgot Where I Was Going With This

imhelendt has a wonderfully joyful look at life, a personal blog with so much heart, spunk and spirit. I admire her relationships, and often she makes me sit back and look how I interact with others.

An entry from iamhelendt’s blog:

He’s left me coffee a few times this week on the counter, but I didn’t know if it was fresh or from the day before or what. So yesterday when he says “You didn’t drink the coffee I made you!” I said “I didn’t know if that was from today! Leave me a note so that I know it’s fresh.” I expected a note with the coffee that said “FRESH” instead the smartass left this:

Okay, so I’m a little late in noticing, but thanks for the tap.

It’s always nice to know you’re able to make people think/laugh/whatever.

hahahah, no worries Angela! Glad you got a chance to see the award. . .

I’ve been good, really busy. Spoke to Kate on the phone for a while last night on the phone.

I haven’t talked to Kate in…well, far too long.

And sadly, she no longer blogs, so I can’t pretend we’re keeping in touch that way.

I’ll have to see if she wants to meet for coffee or something the next time I go Up North.

hey Angela. . . .

I know about Kate and her blog. . . .plus she hates facebook. No online way of reaching that Girl.

Kate is going to Teacher’s college in Burlington, so she’ll be back in your neck of the woods for the school year next year.
