I’ve been very selfish recently, not making enough visits to my favorite blogs. . . . .
I wanted to post a couple of goodies I’ve read this past week. . . . .
1. Fracas’ Cookie Recipe
2. Jayleen B video made by SkyWindows
Which are you? Rock or Spice?
In every relationship there is a rock and an spice. You can personally have traits of both but you are primarily one or the other. Which are you?
Rock : The rock is stable, considerate and interested in the details. The are solid in mind, sturdy in thought and tough with challenges.
Spice : The spice is spontaneous, off the beaten track and a little eccentric. A heaping of an artistic nature, a sprinkling of the wild side and a dash of out-of-the box thinking.
Although I have a strong tendancy to be timely, I believe I’m the Spice to Colin’s Rock. . . .
Disappointment is an ugly little beast. Wikipedia says that Disappointment is the emotion felt when an expectation of something positive desired is not met. Disappointment can also occur when a desired outcome is not met, even if it was not fully expected.
Colin and I went to Finnegan’s Flea Market today.

Colin hates this stuff, but he did it anyways. Because I like them.
I’ve been looking for chairs. I’d like to buy 6 different and unique chairs, and refinish them the same. I’ve always loved the look of the different chairs on “Friends” in Monica’s kitchen. Currently I have the SAME chair in different colours, now I want DIFFERENT chairs all in black.

Colin vowed not to buy anything all day, and in the end – I ended up chairless, and Colin ended up with 2 jars of homemade steak seasoning and a book about the FBI (with the Forward by J.Edgar Hoover) Total cost for the day, $9.00.
After the market we went to water, and watched the wind surfers and jet skiers on Oka beach. . .
It was a beautiful hot day, and it was nice to get some more colour in my face.

My good friends Cheryl and Michael from back home had their first baby today at 8:27 am.
Her name is Adeline. She weighed 9lb 5oz.
Congrats you two!
The famous episode of Friends was on the other day, and got me thinking about who I would put on my own laminated list

This has been a week for milestones with my family and close friends.
We just found out our good friends Geoff & Becky are expecting their second baby in December this year! Naomi, their first baby, will be turning one in August. Becky and Geoff just celebrated 5 years of marriage on May 24th as well.
Congrats you two!!!

A BIG HUGE wooooohoooooo going out to my little buddy Ryan, who just took his first steps this week!
Way to go Ryan!
Now it will be much easier to chase after the girls!
Scott came over last night for a little more Colin BBQ action. We made brochettes.
Scott adores Manny. His girlfriend’s cat, as discribed by Scott, is the devil incarnet.
We had Scott and another friend Vlad over on Sunday for a BBQ for Colin’s birthday. Vlad had arrived first, and Manny being the attention whore that he is tried everything to get Vlad to pay attention to him. No dice, little kitty! Vlad isn’t really a ‘cat person’.
Vlad and Colin went out to the shops to pick up a few last minute items, and while they were out Scott arrived.
A few minutes before Scott arrived I was telling Manny that he was coming over. And as Scott’s car rolled into the drive way little Manny was at the door like a speeding bullet doing little circles, purrs and whiirrrrrs in excitement.
He knew Scott would pay attention to him. Manny loves all the attention Scott gives him, and generally Manny follows him around while he visits.
Even last night Manny was ever so excited to see Scott. Its very cute actually.
Colin and I have made an important decision about Manny. If Colin and I die, or end up in a situation or move that means I can’t take my beloved cats, Manny is to go live with Scott.
Scott is even Manny’s friend on Facebook (Yes! My cats all have ‘CATBOOK’ profiles!)

Aren’t they a cute couple?
Colin and I went to dinner with Chow and Alex tonight to Kanda Sushi in Snowden.
On the walk back to the car after dinner we saw the oddest thing.
A Hasidic Jewish Bachelor Party, at 8:30pm on a Thursday. Of course the backdrop to the shenanigans was a smoked meat joint called ‘Benny’s’
Gotta love Montreal.
Colin and I drove back early Saturday Morning back to Toronto to make a few visits. Its was exhausting, as it was pretty darn hot.
Saturday Morning :
Drove back to Toronto, made good time. Went to mall did a few errands, and bought steaks from Wally’s meats for Sunday Dinner.
Saturday Afternoon :
When to my families house, we hung out in the yard, went swimming in the pool and ate BBQ chicken and shrimp. An informal party for Colin and I who are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary next week. (pictures to follow)
Saturday Night :
The real reason for the trip. We went to see Ryan (and his parents Chris & Christine) – they have just moved into their newly built house and we wanted to scope out the new diggs.
The house is beautiful, and they will be happy there for a long time to come.
We were having such a nice time eating the awesome mexican fayre and drinking margaritis & sangria that I didn’t take pictures. I suck
Sunday Morning :
We had a few more errands we needed to run, we picked up a few birthday gifts for Paul, Kate and Mr Graham.
Sunday Afternoon :
We had dinner with the Graham’s and P&K. Colin BBQ’ed the big steaks we bought. He is very talented on the grill now. After lunch we headed over to see my parents again before we left. My dad made me take some of my storage boxes. They are trying to clear out some ‘junk’ because I think they would like to start looking at selling the house.
Anyhooooo, thats about it
Cheryl and Michael are visiting tonight, they are headed to Quebec City for a wedding tomorrow.
It will be really nice to see them. They will also be staying over on Sunday night before driving back to Ontario on Monday.
Cheryl and Michael are expecting their first baby in late July, the sex of the baby is unknown, and currently the baby is simply and humourously called ‘Ruby’.

Today is my favourite little guy’s birthday. He is one!

Happy Birthday RYAN!!! I sent something home with Mr and Mrs Graham for you until we get to hang out next, ok? Your mom PROMISED Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake!
I hope your mommy and daddy let you play with that drum set I got you from Christmas soon.
Don’t worry, I’ll make sure they give you the car that night you want to go out with that really hot chick.
I promise I won’t tell your mom when we go out to get your first tattoo. . . . .
“Aunt” Joey!
