I find emos fun, they are stereotyped “depressed” “unhappy” and “boring” but they are not, if anybody actually knew a true emo they would see its just a genre/style, a way to be. Its standing out from the rest because who wants to be a clone?
Emos have become so sterotyped that people have actually forgot what they stand for now. “emo = emotional, meaning they cry at everything” is something i heard, Some people are pathetic. but emos and emo art is awesome. My opinion will cost you your right arm and your left testicle.Cheers =]

someone once asked me, are you an emo, and i thought whats an emo?, so i was searchin for an emo image and cane here, anyway i think its sad that some emo’s like that 12yr old kid hate life, sure we’ve all been heart broken, bollied, may have family problems, but still i can’t say i knowwhat you’re going though, i thought the worst experience was being heart broken, and yeh somehow i got into writing songs and poems, but unlike emo’s i done something constructive with it, sent them around and made my friends laugh, thers so much more to life kids, movies, playing sports, getting out, what ever makes you happy?
I think the people like the 12 year old are just looking for attention, be it online or in real life. I’m pretty sure that 12 year old does not know one TRUE emo band and probablly never will. On that note, I say go slit your wrist.

First of all I’d like to inspire all people out there who’ve ever felt like there’s no where to turn, to go out and just live.

Emo isn’t a clothing style, it isn’t a music genre, it isn’t wearing black, it isn’t being depressed or angry all the time, and it sure as hell isn’t slitting your wrists all day! It’s to be emotionally unstable. When you feel like the world is caving in on you or that everyone is against you, or when the smallest thing can make you cry for hours..That, could mean you are emo.
Yes, okay, I consider myself to be emo because I fall under what I just said and because everyone thinks I am emo too now. Sure, I wear a lot of black clothes, nailpolish, and dye my hair black too. Yes, I like Bullet for my Valentine, my chemical romance, Scary kids scaring kids, and atreyu. And I wear a lot of eyeliner. But thats not what makes me an emo. It’s the fact that I cry for hours because of one thing someone said. And then I’m angry later.

EMO is something that you realise that you already are… and aprt from anything that anybody has to say about it - The Cure did it all years ago. They spoke for/to a group of people who were in the punk/new wave scene, but were on an emotional rollercoaster - usually going downhill. It is something that can go hand-in-hand with depression, but does not have to. The overriding emotion (EMOtion!!) is… melancholy. For gods sake what so important about being emo? They are people and thats what matters. People who hate emos are just scared of people who are different to themselves, its so childish. Besides, you don’t know what their lives might be like. How would you like it when you can’t even walk down a street without people staring and pointing?
And if you’re wondering, i am emo. My life isn’t exactly a walk in the park, far from it. Going through the first few years of High School have been Hell. I’ve been like this since i was eleven, that was when the problems started, i got bullied and my friends turned away from me. Then i started slitting my wrists and the teachers asked about the cuts. Then the whole school found out and i was left alone at break as if emo was contagious. It still happens now but back then i cried at the drop of a hat because it was so bad. I would be ok for one moment then sad the next and furious after that. So if your a chav and you’re reading this, this is how you guys made my life a living hell.

At the end of the day It`s all about stil, and Identity. Most “normal” people choose the modern stile, other`s choose rock, metall, punk/political –> anarkist and so on. I think the stils we choose is a reflection of what we feel inside. If you`r depressed, sad, happy or whatever we do certain things in the day that reflects our mood. If your happy with life you dont put on lets say Clawfinger - Catch me if you can. You do not dress all black, put maceup on, and walk around lokking like you want to kill the first person you meet…
Every stil that we have today is made by someone behind someone famus. Either a rockstar/musician, actor or model(s).
But than again, we have to go back to the beginning. It`s all about stil, and Identity. For some persons it`s hard to find they`r way in life. They strugle to find the meaning, “why am I here”, “who am I” and so on. Some people actually dont feel they belong in the world. (If you realy can inmagine how that`s like, go ahed, make a joke… ) In a desperat attempt to understand their feelings and thought`s the try to make it real, to make it within reach. Emo`s is a good example. when the days is dark, and the sun just wont come over the horizon, you feel angry, frustrated, sad, lonley, unworthy, and you dont think you belong here but you cant understand the reason for it, dressing and behave like a emo, rebell, anarkist,(or what ever ) is a good way to communicate whit your inner core…
BUT, I can understand the non-emo enthusiast that walks around hateing the “Emo” group. I dont think there is any other stil that has become as poppuler as the “emostil”. Most likely because it`s a look of emotion, rebellion, frustration, sorrow, attention and so on. And as long as the majority (in the western world ) live their happy ignorant lifes like they are, these “unnormal” subjects and stiles will ALLWAYS bring fourth a reaction from them.
